Gentle Curve By Donna Eaton
This textured, floral macro focuses (and blurs!) on the beauty and grace of a Cala Lily detail. The undulating forms and sweet color reminded me somewhat of a Georgia O’Keefe painting.
Donna shares how she made the image.
Textures Used
May Roses from the Artiste Collection.
Blend Mode: Normal / Opacity: 75%
Soleil from the Summer Color Wash Collection
Blend Mode: Soft Light / Opacity: 70%
Processing Notes
I layered the May Roses texture over the original image in the normal mode at approximately 75% opacity. I created a mask to erase some of the texture off of the Calla Lily using a large soft brush at approximately 40%. I also stretched the texture layer a bit at the top of the image to eliminate some of the dark area. I layered the Soleil color wash over the May Roses texture layer in the soft light mode at approximately 70%. I then enhanced the image in Nik Color Efex Pro 4 by using the brilliance & warmth filter, darken/lighten center, and vintage filter.

I enjoyed reading this and it’s given me a clue as to what some of those Nik filters I rarely use are good for!
